Thursday at 5:00pm
Spelling Bee at the school house
Boys and Girls ages first grade through six grade are welcome to participate in round one. Then, be sure to stay around for the second round, featuring participants 60 and over!
Friday through Sunday
It all starts out with the chance to win a bike. Every day, there are multiple daily drawings in front of the fair office. If you're under 17 years old, you can enter to win a bike donated by service organizations throughout the community.
Check the fair office window for times of daily drawings.
Thursday through Saturday
Hats off to 100 years! Bring your completed page to the Fair Office or Clay Country Fairgrounds. Coloring pages will be featured at the Preschool Corner in the Main Exhibit building throughout the fair.
Friday and Saturday
Milk a cow, get your milk mustache photo taken with a princess.
Friday, 1:00 - 3:00pm
4-H Day Camp
Registration Fee: $5 per child
Boys and girls kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome to attend this exploration of 100 years of Clay County history. Through hands-on activities, youth will experience the past while enjoying the present. The BUG MAN
Don Carey, an entomologist from NDSU, will bring a collection of friends with more than four legs. His presentation explains the importance of bugs in our everyday lives.
Friday at 11:00am near the band shelter
See how far, fast, or long you can last while competing for gold, silver, and bronze stickers in Ag Olympics! With events like Hay Stacking, Feed Sack Races, Sunflower Seed Spitting, Hula Hooping, Roping, Egg Tossing, and Nail Driving, there's no better place to spend your Friday afternoon.

Test your knowledge about places around the world
Saturday at 2:00pm
Join us near the school house for a nickle scramble. Contestants in this event will be grouped according to age, 5 to 10 years inclusive.
Sunday at 3:30pm
Come to the Natural Resources Building for the "fishy" swim race for all ages. Sure to please the young and old, these minnows are sure to attract a crowd as they swim to victory.
Sunday at 1:00pm
Pedal Power Pull
Do you think you have what it takes to be in a real tractor pull? Then come to the front of the fair office for the pedal power pull. The contest will be open to kids ages 4 to 11.
- The child will enter the class for the age he/she is on the day of the pull.
- Each contestant must have parent's or guardian's signature.
- Whoever pulls the weighted sled the greatest distance in his/her age group will be the winner of that age group.
- Length of pull is measured at the point that the forward motion stops.
- First and second place winners will be able to advance to the Minnesota State Pedal Tractor Pull!
- Trophies awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each group.
- No entry fee requred.
- All equiment, including pedal tractors, will be furnished.
- A contestant that has qualified for the state before can pull again, but can't quality for the state again.
